IN-RING SEGMENT
Smackdown Commissioner Shane McMahon came out to kick off the show, and instantly started complaining about Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn getting opportunity after opportunity, including a potential WWE Championship match at the upcoming Fastlane pay-per-view. He brought out Daniel Bryan to explain his actions, and accused him of living vicariously through Owens and Zayn because he wants more than anything to get back into a WWE ring. Shane called the “YEP Movement” a cheap imitation of the greatest thing Bryan has ever created.
AJ Styles came out next before the two authority figures got any more heated, and received a tremendous reaction from the WWE Universe. The champion said he’s travelled over 10,000 miles since the start of the new year defending his title, through bad weather, cancelled flights and overnight car trips all around the country. Styles said he doesn’t care about the grind because he was built for life on the road, but what he can’t stand is the Smackdown powers that be constantly interfering in his life because of their obsession with Owens and Zayn. He warned them both to stay away from tonight’s main event, and let him handle his own business.
– The New Day were shown backstage eating pancakes and answering questions on social media.
– Quick promo from Jimmy Uso and Naomi as they get set to face Goldust and Mandy Rose (who are calling themselves “Rose Gold”) on WWE Mixed Match Challenge. Welcome to the Uso Penitentiary.
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
After a commercial break AJ Styles was shown walking backstage trying to digest what just happened out in the ring with Shane and Bryan. Shinsuke Nakamura walked up to him and simply said, “I’m going to beat you at WrestleMania” before walking away with a smile on his face. The champ just stood there with a confused look on his face, clearly not in the right headspace to deal with April just yet.

Charlotte went right after Morgan as soon as the bell rang, going crazy on her with wild rights and lefts in the corner. The referee kept warning her to back off as she far exceeded a five-count in the ropes, but the Queen refused to let up and just kept hammering down on the Riott Squad member. The other two members of the group pulled Liv to safety and regrouped a bit as Charlotte taunted them from the top rope.
