TV dramas gear up for summer of love
With the summer vacation fast approaching, a number of coming-of-age dramas are flooding to TV channels and streaming sites in a bid to grab youngsters’ attention.
So far, the biggest hits include Unrequited Love, a 24-episode series about an ordinary girl who has a secret crush on a top student.
Adapted from the namesake best-selling novel written by Liu Wanhui, perhaps better known by her pseudonym, Bayue Chang’an, Unrequited Love has garnered a score of 8.6 points out of 10 on the streaming site Tencent Video.
Put Your Head on My Shoulder is another example that reflects the rising popularity of youth-oriented romance dramas.
Adapted from a best-selling novel written by Zhao Qianqian, the heartwarming story chronicles the chaos caused when a bumbling young graduate confused about her future and a genius physics student end up accidentally living together.

The drama has recently obtained an 8 points out of 10 score on Douban, making it the highest-ranked in its genre on the site.
