'Tragic': 2-Year-Old Found Dead In Bed At His Tullytown Home

TULLYTOWN, PA — A toddler was found dead on a bed inside his Tullytown home and his mother has been hospitalized with injuries that authorities believe were self-inflicted. Detectives are investigating the death of 2-year-old Mazikeen Clarey, who was found dead around 10:35 p.m. Saturday near Lovett and Manor avenues, the Bucks County District Attorney’s office announced Sunday morning.

It wasn’t immediately clear how the boy died — his body showed no obvious signs of trauma. An autopsy and toxicology tests will be performed, the office said. Matthew Wientraub, the district attorney, called his death “tragic.”

“Young Mazikeen’s death is tragic, regardless of how it was caused,” Weintraub said in a release. “We are using all of our resources to determine if he is the victim of a homicide. This will take time. We ask for your assistance and your patience while we conduct this investigation.”

The boy’s mother, Jennifer Clarey, 42, was found with injuries that appeared to be self-inflicted, authorities said. She has been hospitalized.

No one else was found in the home and investigators do not believe there is any threat to the public.
An investigation remains ongoing. No criminal charges have been filed and no additional details are expected to be released until the autopsy is complete.
