‘Sheep Without a Shepherd’ tops Chinese mainland box office

Chinese film “Sheep Without a Shepherd” continued leading the Chinese mainland box office Wednesday, according to the China Movie Data Information Network Thursday.

The film raked in about 33.93 million yuan (around $4.85 million) on the sixth day of screening, accounting for 42 percent of the daily total.

The film depicts the story of a father trying to cover up his daughter’s crime, who committed manslaughter of a police officer’s son, dragging the girl’s family into struggles against the police.

It was followed by “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” the latest installment in the “Star Wars” film franchise, pocketing about 12.53 million yuan of opening day presales on the mainland.

Coming in third was domestic film “Warriors of Honor,” which had grossed about 82.7 million yuan since Dec 5.
