Ruled Out By Doctors With No Chance To Survive, Cadet Cheats Death To Get His First Posting In Siachen

A few months back 27-year-old GC (gentleman cadet) Rajshekhar almost saw his life’s dream of becoming an army officer crashing down, in front of his own eyes. This was after he suffered multiple organ failures after collapsing during a routine exercise.

The doctors at Indian Military Academy in Dehradun had ruled out his chances of survival.

“I suddenly collapsed due to dehydration during the pahla kadam exercise in which cadets were required to run a distance of 10km with heavy loads on their back,” Rajshekhar recalled.
