Rich Swann Makes Impact Debut, New Slammiversary Matches, NXT/FS1

After leaving WWE in controversial fashion earlier this year, it looked like Rich Swann’s wrestling career was over as the former 205 Live star officially announced his retirement from the industry. However, Swann eventually decided to continue on with his career, and it was recently announced that Swann would be joining the Impact Wrestling roster. After weeks and weeks of hyping up his debut, the former Cruiserweight Champion arrived on last night’s edition of Impact Wrestling. Swann took on Trevor Lee and managed to get the win in his very first match on Impact. Rich Swann is looking to begin a new chapter in his career, so it will be interesting to see what he is able to accomplish in Impact.

Impact Wrestling is now building up their upcoming Slammiversary pay-per-view that will be airing later on this summer. The card already features a world title match with Austin Aries defending against Moose, as well as a Knockouts Championship match between Su Yung and Madison Rayne, but two more matches have just been announced for the event. During last night’s episode of Impact Wrestling, it was confirmed that there will be a Fatal 4-Way match between Rich Swann, Johnny Impact, Fenix, and Taiji Ishimori on the show. Also announced for the event was a Mask vs. Hair match between Pentagon Jr. and Sami Callihan. Slammiversary will be taking place on July 22nd in Toronto, Canada.

As reported earlier in the week, WWE officially announced that Smackdown will be moving to the Fox broadcast network starting in October of 2019. The deal between WWE and Fox is said to be worth millions, and it could see even more WWE programming brought onto the network along the way. After news of NXT possibly being added on FS1 was reported earlier this week, Bodyslam.net’s Brad Shepard has just stated that that deal is essentially completed at this point. Similarly, Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin noted on Twitter that an official announcement from WWE confirming NXT’s move to FS1 will likely be made very soon.
