Renee Young on WWE Status, Mahal Champion Again? Batista/Jericho

For the past few years now, Renee Young has been working as a broadcaster on WWE programming. Whether it’s been her work on commentary, pre-show panels, pay-per-view post-shows, or simple backstage interviewing, Young has proved over and over again just how talented she really is, and she has become tremendously popular with fans and her peers behind the scenes. It would be a real shame to lose Renee Young to some other company. During an appearance on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, Young addressed her future with WWE. “At a certain point, I don’t know how long my role in WWE will be. I don’t know what that is going to be.” she said. Young has a strong interest in beginning a career in comedic acting and she is hopeful that she can strike a deal with WWE that will allow her to fulfill both duties in the future.
Several months later, fans are still in shock over the fact that Jinder Mahal won and held the WWE Championship for most of 2017. Mahal went from being barely featured on WWE programming to becoming world champion within just a matter of weeks. It looks like “The Maharaja” has moved out of the world title picture for now in favor of fighting for the United States Championship, but Mahal is predicting another run as WWE Champion in the future. During an appearance on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, Mahal was asked about his current position on Smackdown and if he believes that he will ever reach the success that he did last year ever again, to which Mahal stated: “You know, maintain that level of performance, and that’s 100 percent up to me. If you see me fall down the card, it’s my own fault. If I’m staying at this level, it’s because of the hard work that I’m doing and I ultimately will become WWE Champion again. I 100 percent believe that.”
Batista and Chris Jericho are two of the biggest stars in the history of WWE, but they have both managed to have successful careers outside of pro wrestling as well. Chris Jericho has kept himself busy with his musical career while Batista has continued working as an actor. Interestingly enough, Batista just attended the “80s Night” Walk to Cure Diabetes event along with Jericho and a few other wrestling superstars. Batista and Jericho were joined by wrestling personalities such as Christian, Tyson Kidd, Natalya and Baron Corbin. Former Smackdown Women’s Champion Natalya recently uploaded a photo of the group at the event dressed in their 80s-inspired costumes. Feel free to check out the images from the event in the social media posts down below:
