PSG to move for Inter defender Milan Škriniar again in January

Le Parisien report tonight that Paris Saint-Germain are still looking to bring in Inter defender Milan Škriniar after their unsuccessful attempts to sign the Slovakian international, who had been their number one transfer target over the summer.

The fact that the centre-back’s contract expires at the end of the current season, and the Ligue 1 champions know that the Nerazzurri’s asking price will decrease this winter, in comparison to the €80m valuation they had refused to match in the last few months.

The negotiations – which in the end were being led by Nasser Al-Khelaifi – say PSG unwilling to go any higher than €60m. This time, €20m could well be enough to buy out the defender’s final six months in Lombardy, especially given he does not seem willing to put pen to paper on a new deal.

The collapse of the deal this summer, after personal terms had been agreed, cause some frustration within the club, notably sporting advisor Luís Campos who had identified the defence as a weak spot and Christophe Galtier who has gone for a three-at-the-back system. Škriniar’s arrival this winter could prove timely ahead of a potential Champions League knockout stage campaign.
