Official | PSG sign Renato Sanches from Lille
Paris Saint-Germain have this afternoon announced the signing of midfielder Renato Sanches from Lille, with the Portuguese midfielder signing a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 champions.
As reported by L’Équipe and confirmed by sources contacted by Get French Football News earlier this week the two clubs found a breakthrough in talks after PSG submitted a €15m bid having previously been pushing for a loan deal with a permanent clause. Lille had an offer from Milan – worth €16m – for a permanent deal, and as a result were favouring the Rossoneri’s bid until then.
The former Bayern Munich man had agreed personal terms in principle with the Parisians as far back as a month ago, and had turned down Milan’s advances in favour of a move to remain in Ligue 1.
The Euro 2016 winner leaves Lille after an impressively resurgent but injury-blighted three-year spell, in which he made 91 appearances and was notably part of the team that unexpectedly lifted the 2020/21 domestic league title.
