Lyon have tonight announced the signing of Italian international left-back Emerson Palmieri on  a season-long loan from Chelsea.

Les Gones will pay a €500k loan fee, with an additional €500k in potential bonuses over the course of the campaign, and have a right of first refusal on the player until the end of next summer’s transfer window.

The 27-year-old was a part of Italy’s Euro 2020-winning team this summer – starting in the final against England – and has won both the Champions League and the Europa League in his three-year spell at Chelsea.
