Nice increase bid for Lorient’s Terem Moffi to €20m
OGC Nice have increased their bid for the signing of FC Lorient striker Terem Moffi, Ouest-France are reporting. Les Aiglons are now offering a package estimated at €20m with €17m paid upfront and €3m worth of bonuses. Nigerian forward Moffi (23) is Ligue 1’s second-highest goalscorer with twelve strikes this season for Les Merlus. Only PSG’s free-scoring Kylian Mbappe has more with thirteen. Nice are reportedly leading the race for the signing of Moffi, because West Ham look to have given up on the Nigerian as they are closing on a £15m deal for Aston Villa’s Danny Ings.
Ineos-owned Nice have already offered €15m and €18m, but both offers were rejected by Lorient’s management. A physical, fast and powerful forward, Moffi scored 35 goals in 90 games since his arrival in Brittany two years ago for an €8m fee. His contract expires in 2024. Moffi has reportedly already agreed personal terms with Nice and does not wish to move to England yet.
