New NWA World Tag Team Champions Crowned At ‘Hard Times’
The miracle reign of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express came to an end Friday night in Atlanta, GA.
The all-time great tag team legends lost the NWA World Tag Team Championships in a triple threat match at the National Wrestling Alliance’s Hard Times pay-per-view, with Eli Drake and “The Cowboy” James Storm emerging with the belts around their waists.
The Wildcards, Thomas Latimer and Royce Isaacs, were also part of the bout, but were ultimately unsuccessful in regaining the titles that they lost to the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express back at the October 2019 NWA Powerrr television tapings.
This is a first-time championship win for Eli Drake, who is also a former Impact World Tag Team Champion. Bizarrely enough, his partner at the time was none other than Scott Steiner, who is also now with the NWA and challenged for the National title at Hard Times.
This is absolutely not a first-time win for “The Cowboy”, as he had already won the NWA World Tag Team Championships an impressive SEVEN times back when the titles were defended in TNA Wrestling. In addition to his now eight reigns with the belts, Storm is also a seven-time TNA World Tag Team Champion as well.
