Lille’s financial problems continue: they must raise €30m in sales to satisfy French football financial watchdog the DNCG

L’Équipe report this morning that Lille’s financial problems are continuing and that they must raise a further €30m in sales between now and the end of the summer transfer window or face punishment from French football financial watchdog the DNCG.

Until Lille do so, they are not allowed to play new signings Loïc Rémy, Rafaël Leao and Jérémy Pied. The former, who joined early this window, is growing increasingly frustrated by the situation.

One of the players that LOSC are looking to potentially move on is winger Anwar El Ghazi, who has received approaches from Rennes & St Étienne, and is also interesting Aston Villa and Leeds United, who could sign the Dutchman on loan with an option to buy.

Jorge Mendes manages the player’s interests.

Nicolas Pépé and Adama Soumaoro have the greatest market value in the current squad, with Sevilla interested in the former and Lyon in the latter, but neither player wants to leave the club.

The clock is ticking for Lille.
