Latest NWA Ten Pounds of Gold Spotlights Upcoming World Title Match Between Nick Aldis and Marty Scurll

The latest episode of NWA’s Ten Pounds of Gold spotlights the upcoming World Championship match between Nick Aldis and Marty Scurll.

The title match takes place at The Crockett Cup on April 27. Aldis wanted to tag with Marty in the tournament itself, with hopes of winning the legendary cup. But The Villain had other ideas and instead challenged Nick to a title match.

NWA Owner Billy Corgan commented on the match during the episode.

“The market tells you what it wants and what the market really is after right now is WrestleMania all the time. It’s a really crowded, competitive marketplace so when you can put on a marquee match-up like a Marty Scurll and a Nick Aldis for the most prestigious title in all of professional wrestling, that’s a must see match.”

The NWA has experienced a rebirth over the past couple of years, thanks to Corgan’s involvement, as well as the company’s working relationship with Ring of Honor.

Scurll is an ROH wrestler of course, though he also continues to work in New Japan Pro Wrestling. He and Aldis are friends and that fact is playing into this storyline, which will come to fruition on April 27.
