Hiroshi Tanahashi Teases The Idea Of Challenging For The AEW World Championship

Hiroshi Tanahashi recently spoke with Tokyo Sports about his upcoming match with Chris Jericho, teasing a possible AEW Title shot in the future.
Tanahashi and Jericho will be colliding at Wrestle Kingdom 14 where the AEW World Champion will make his third appearance at the historic event.
During his interview, Tanahashi revealed that if he wins the match, then he would be interested in possibly facing Jericho for the AEW World Championship.
“Isn’t he the champion over there? All I’m saying is if I win and he comes back for a rematch then I think it’s reasonable to tell him to put the belt up. If that happened it would break down a door.”
Despite the history many of AEW’s top talents have had with New Japan the two promotions have not officially worked together so far. Therefore it would be interesting to see if the storyline did end up building to a title shot down the line.
