Former WWE IC Champ Fighting Kimbo Slice, Ebert Reviews 'The Wrestler'

— MMA legend and former WWE Intercontinental champion Ken Shamrock will be fighting EliteXC headline fighter Kimbo Slice on October 4th. The fight will take place from Florida and will be the main event of EliteXC’s Saturday Night Fights special airing on CBS. A Press conference was held this afternoon and got pretty rowdy. Ken Shamrock said he’s upset about his recent string of losses and will not be a stepping stone for Kimbo.
— Film critic Roger Ebert has reviewed “The Wrestler”, a film directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Mickey Rourke. Ebert calls it “meat-and-potatoes filmmaking, anchored by a strong story and sharply defined characters.” He also says Mickey Rourke’s performance in the lead role is “arguably his best career performance and could win him an Oscar nomination.” Ebert’s full review of the film can be read here.
