Exhibition to show artist’s view of human desire

Chinese artist Chen Wenling has created sculptural installations, often being shown outdoors, which address individual feelings arising from the dramatic social changes in the country over the past four decades.

Fable of Duration, an exhibition to be open at the Beijing Minsheng Art Museum on Sunday, reviews Chen’s evolution in creativity since 2006. More than 50 sculptures and installations, as well as 80 sketches, will be on show to present his reflections on a sudden increase in people’s wealth and thereafter their brace for excessive consumption, the relationship between globalization and cultural diversity, and the state of Chinese folk arts and cultural traditions.
