Expected walkouts and repeated adjournments cost people a whopping Rs 194 crores till March 20th in the ongoing budget session as the productivity of the parliament are staring into the abyss.

According to government estimates in 2014, the functioning of the parliament takes Rs 2.5 lakh per minute and even if we go this estimate while trying to forget that Members of Parliament themselves had increased their salaries, the session till March 20th cost Rs 252 crores with both houses collectively sitting for 38.8 hours out of the 168 working hours which means that the Parliament only utilised roughly Rs 58 crores out of Rs 252 crores spent.
