Crazzy Steve Reportedly Set to Join WWE in NXT
Earlier this week, in the midst of returns and debuts aplenty, Impact Wrestling star Crazzy Steve announced on Twitter that he would be leaving the company due to an expired contract. Unlike other recent splits between wrestlers and TNA this year, it’s being said that this one was mutually agreed upon. The former Decay member made his mark in the company as a two-time tag team champion, and was heavily featured in a feud with the “Broken” Hardys last year. Though he may be gone from Impact, it certainly looks as though he has already found some pretty nice work for himself.
Dave Meltzer mentioned on his Wrestling Observer Radio show, that Crazzy Steve, (whose real name is Steven Scott), will likely be reporting to WWE Performance Center and joining NXT. Reportedly, it wasn’t long after he had given his notice to Impact that WWE contacted him about coming into the company. In Impact, the Decay team that he was apart of split up and was written off of television. Since then, Abyss gone back to his “Joseph Park” gimmick, and has involved himself in the Matthews/Borash storyline. Rosemary, meanwhile has begun a solo run for herself, and is currently the Knockouts Champion. Steve, however, did not have any real direction after the group disbanded.
No word on when exactly he may be set to join the NXT roster, nor has his singing been officially confirmed as of yet. It will be interesting to see if Steve will remain, well, crazy, or he’ll be repackaged and have to start over again in the developmental promotion. Of course, fans have speculated that he may fit in nicely with the SAnitY faction, but we’ll wait to see just what happens to him. Steve wrestled on the indys from 2003-2013 before being hired by TNA Wrestling in 2014 and leaving last week. He is currently 33 years old.
