Chelsea Team News: Injuries, suspensions and line-up vs Everton
The Blues are in contention to go top of the league this weekend, should results go in their favour, after an unbeaten start to the season
Chelsea return home after a 2,300 mile round trip to Belarus in the Europa League to face more familiar opposition of Everton at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Maurizio Sarri rotated heavily but his side are already through to the last 32 of the Europa League after winning all of their Group L matches so far.
Everton are not seventeen games unbeaten like Chelsea, but they go into their away trip having won four of their last five league games.
Chelsea star Eden Hazard is building up his fitness after returning to action against Crystal Palace last weekend, before starting against BATE on Thursday.
Olivier Giroud and Ethan Ampadu also featured against BATE, leaving Sarri with a clean bill of health ahead of the weekend.
Neither Chelsea nor Everton have any players out with suspensions ahead of Sunday’s clash, while there are no players in danger of bans should they pick up yellow cards.
Hazard is expected to start his second match in a row as Chelsea look to name their strongest XI after rotating heavily in the Europa League.
Morata is establishing himself as the first choice striker again with six goals so far and a recent upturn in form that helped him to a double against Palace.
The players rested against BATE included the likes of Marcos Alonso, Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz, with the trio set to return to the first eleven against Everton.
Everton have had problems with injuries earlier in the season but they appear to have all their players back ahead of the Chelsea game.
Phil Jagielka and Jonjoe Kenny have been back in training and complete a full list of fit players.
However, Kurt Zouma will miss out due to the terms of his loan from Chelsea. Marco Silva will have to make alternative plans, as Zouma has been a regular starter so far this season.
The match at Stamford Bridge kicks off at 14:15 BST on Sunday and it will be shown on Sky Sports in the UK.
