Chancellor reflects on Wallaroos growth ahead of Harlequins shift
Wallaroos backrower Emily Chancellor is hoping their promising World Cup performance can take the program to the next level. The Wallaroos were eliminated from the quarter-finals by the all-powerful Red Roses 41-5 on Sunday.Chancellor scored their lone try of the game, a perfect exhibition of just how good they can be as forwards and backs interchanged with ease in the torrential conditions. It was a sign of growth after back-to-back wins over Six Nations opposition Scotland and Wales, with the back-rower hoping it continues into the future.“The moments are there, the moments are on the field and I hope everyone back home can see that we are trying and putting on performances that hopefully inspire some next generation," she told Rugby.com.au“We want them to be able to say they can do it or do it better (than us) so bring it in. Come and join us, shows us what you are made of!”Chancellor was among leaders appearing to engage in a deep huddle between players after the match, spending several minutes together reflecting on the journey since their opening Test at Suncorp Stadium.“It was all about belief and where we’ve come from, being proud of the fact that all 33 are there working hard for each other," she explained.“We were all in that game, we’ve got to be proud of where we’ve got to even though we’re disappointed and for some, it’s the end of a big Rugby career so that was being celebrated at the same time.”Chancellor is one of several Wallaroos set to make the trip to England in a quest to grow their game. She is joined by Waratahs teammates Arabella McKenzie and Kaitlan Leaney at Harlequins whilst Lori Cramer and Michaela Leonard will feature at Exeter.“I think if what we see from the English team is set-piece is clinical then I’m excited to learn how to play a fast-tempo game," Chancellor believes.“Hopefully I can bring that back to Australian Rugby when I join again straight after the season.“We’ve definitely made our case as a group of overseas players in terms of selection and no one is heading saying ‘see you later, this is it.’“There’s a reason we’re going over there, we want to get better and grow, this is the best way that we can play high-quality games of Rugby.“Rugby Australia and the coaching staff know our intention is to come back and hopefully we’re putting our best foot forward to be selected for Australian Rugby. It’s just whether it’s four, all or none of us! We’re putting our best foot forward and we’re eager to play our best Rugby.”Click Here: Feyenoord soccer tracksuit
