Carmella Talks About Her NXT Learning Curve, Getting Her WWE Tryout, Taking Opportunities in the Company and More

WWE SmackDown Live Women’s Champion, Carmella, was recently interviewed by Inside The Ropes regarding her career in WWE so far. Below are some highlights but you can check out the full interview above.

Her WWE tryout:

“I was a dance my whole life, I love performing and being in front of a crowd. It was an opportunity I got when I was dancing that sort of just snowballed into this chance to get a tryout with WWE. I always thought this is the perfect opportunity to continue my love of performing but also tie in my fathers background with WWE.”

Her NXT learning curve:

“I think my biggest hurdle was to be in NXT with girls like Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, Bayley, for me to be in there with such elite women, I just thought well I am never going to be on their level in terms of in-ring ability with their experience so I knew I had to bring something different to the table.”

Taking opportunities:

“Every opportunity I try to take and run with it, when I wasn’t called up with the boys I put in as much work as possible and three months later I was called up. People don’t expect much from me but every time I prove myself, I don’t care what people say because I did it my way.”
