Billy Corgan On TNA Rebuilding Itself, Misogyny In Pro Wrestling & More

Smashing Pumpkins frontman and TNA executive, Billy Corgan, recently spoke with TMZ about his TNA being in the middle of a rebuilding process.

“I started this weird crazy journey I’m on working in the business,” said Corgan of entering the pro wrestling business via TNA Wrestling. “There’s a ton of talent in TNA, so it’s an exciting time in TNA if we can turn that corner. We’re building on talent, a great locker room [and] a great front office.”

Corgan, who also produced the song used for the new Impact Wrestling on Pop TV opening video, also spoke about his belief that wrestling has a misogyny stigma attached to it snd pointed to Ronda Rousey as an example of why it would be beneficial for TNA to embrace female talent.

“I think there is a whole host of ways to portray women in wrestling in the future that sort of gets away from the typical misogynist stuff. I think (Ronda Rousey) embodies everything that is about smart, sexy, and tough, I think that’s shown to be a huge marketable asset.”
