Benjamin Bourigeaud to stay at Rennes

As reported by Le10Sport, Rennes midfielder Benjamin Bourigeaud is expected to stay at the Breton club for this season after months of intrigue over his future.

The 28-year-old was one of the players of the season in Ligue 1 last year and was central to orchestrating France’s most exciting attacking unit, making it into double figures for league goals as well as assists.

The Frenchman, who was pre-selected for a France national team squad earlier this year, had been interesting Italian clubs, most notably Lazio and Roma, as well as La Liga side Sevilla, with just one year left on his Rennes deal as it stands amid attempts from his club the convince him to sign a new contract this off-season.

Bourigeaud, however, has decided to stay put this year say the out let but, as it stands will be able to leave for free next summer and sign a pre-contract agreement with another club as soon as January with no new deal signed in France as yet,.
