Bella Twins Gone From Total Divas, Rousey’s Original WM Opponent
The upcoming season of Total Divas will look a lot different than the previous editions of the show. WWE and the E! network have been making some changes to the cast of the reality series for the next season. It was already reported and confirmed that Rusev and Lana have been taken off of the show. According to Lana, E! executives conducted a poll and found the two of them to be too unlikable for the series. WWE went on to announce that Lana has been replaced by SmackDown’s Sonya Deville earlier today, and there have since been reports claiming that Ronda Rousey may be involved as well. However, it has now just been revealed that both of The Bella Twins will be off the next season of Total Divas altogether.
According to a report from Pro Wrestling Sheet, the upcoming season of Total Divas is not set to feature Nikki or Brie Bella at all. Nikki and Brie have both appeared on Total Divas since the show began in 2013, but they will now be focusing solely on the Total Bellas spinoff on E! instead. The same report also confirmed that Natalya, Sonya Deville, Carmella, Nia Jax, and Naomi are also set to appear on the next season of Total Divas, which could mean that Paige will join Lana and The Bellas on the departing cast members list. The Bella Twins were arguably the two biggest stars on the show, and with the sisters now off the show, that would certainly seem to indicate that Ronda Rousey will replace them this season, but that still has not been confirmed yet.
Ronda Rousey’s match for WrestleMania 35 may not be completely set in stone just yet, but it is commonly accepted that she will be defending the Raw Women’s Championship in the main event of the show. Rousey is set to face Charlotte Flair in a rematch during WrestleMania, but there is still a chance that Becky Lynch will regain her spot in the match, thus making it a Triple Threat bout. However, Ringside News has just reported that there was a totally different match planned for Rousey at WrestleMania 35 months ago. They claim that Natalya was supposed to challenge Rousey during the event. That all changed after the passing of her father, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart caused WWE to decide against turning Natalya heel for the feud. As of now, Rousey and Nattie are still friends on TV, but perhaps a match between them will take place down the road.
