Backstage News on Drew McIntyre's Push & His Match Against Ricochet

— WWE is back to pushing Drew McIntyre as a top star, it was noted on Wrestling Observer Radio. On Raw this past Monday, McIntyre battled Ricochet in his first match back since undergoing minor undisclosed surgery and ended up winning. The Observer Radio also suggested that WWE is looking to strengthen McIntyre again by getting him going with a push whereas Ricochet is looked at more of a “long term project.” This would be one of the main reasons why McIntyre was booked not only to beat Ricochet, but to beat him up on the way out.

— The other possibility is that McIntyre vs. Ricochet could be a program that WWE carries through the Crown Jewel PPV in Saudi Arabia (both wrestlers are involved in the Team Hogan vs. Team Flair match).
