AS Monaco VP Vadim Vasilyev personally pockets 10% of all profit on transfer sales

Mediapart have revealed this morning, in a Football Leak confirmed by AS Monaco and the man in question, that the club’s Vice President Vadim Vasilyev personally pockets 10% of all profit on transfer sales that ASM make – a unique arrangement for any club official.

In this arrangement, Vasilyev’s cut is reduced by any sales of players that have seen Monaco make a loss on their investment into that particular individual, but that rarely happens at the Principality.

In 2015/16, Vasilyev earned €5.3m thanks to this arrangement, and in 2016/17, €5.4m.

The 2017/18 campaign is due to earn him a record amount relating specifically to this bonus as it will include the sales of Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy, Kylian Mbappé and Tiemoué Bakayoko.

This, on top of his annual salary of €1.25m.
