Andrea Anastasi: It was disaster in fourth set

Iranian national volleyball team won another big game in Japan. Andrea Anastasi was very sad after the lost in five sets with Iran.

“Today was a great victory for Iran. We are not happy because we lost focus in the fourth set. We made mistakes in reception and service. This is the life of the team. Sometimes you lose. We had 16-11 lead in the fourth set and lost focus. It was a disaster. We had the chance to close out the match“, commented the match head coach of Polish national team.

“We are very happy with this victory because we beat a strong team. I told the players after the win over Serbia that we were looking for another surprise“, said Julio Velasco.

Iran improved its win/loss record to 3-1 in a match that was very competitive with the exception of the third set. The defeat was Poland’s first after victories over Cuba, Argentina and Serbia.

“Our players were good. We took the chance when we got it. I asked the players to fight for each ball and they did. Our serves and defense made the difference“, added head coach of Iranian national volleyball team.
