Bayley and More Stars React to Paige WWE Retirement, More Details On Jake Roberts Altercation at WrestleCon
As we noted over the weekend, WWE Hall of Famer Jake Roberts was involved in a physical altercation at WrestleCon in New Orleans, as former WWE star Harry Smith reportedly threw hot coffee in Roberts’ face.
The incident stemmed from comments Roberts has made in the past regarding Smith’s father, “The British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith.
Dave Meltzer noted on today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Jake Roberts, along with WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall, have had recent Twitter spats with Harry Smith, with Hall and Roberts making negative comments about Davey Boy Smith.
Smith reportedly approached Scott Hall at WrestleCon and confronted him about Hall’s past comments, and Hall reportedly apologized, the two shook hands and made amends. However, when Smith went over to do the same with Jake Roberts, he was not met with cordiality, and instead Roberts said he would not apologize for his comments. This lead to Harry Smith asking Roberts to discuss the issue outside, and when Roberts refused to go with him, Harry Smith reportedly threw hot coffee on Roberts. After a brief scene, Smith left the area.
