WWE SmackDown ratings down for first time in over a month

After nearly matching Raw’s numbers last week, Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown was down to 2.493 million viewers. That’s seven percent short of last week and the third lowest number since the start of the fall TV season.

This marks the first time SmackDown has been down from the previous week since the episode that fell on Halloween night, though this Tuesday’s show was up for the third straight week as compared to the previous year. The December 6th, 2016 edition of SmackDown averaged 2.479 million viewers.

SmackDown was seventh for the night on cable in terms of total viewers and second in the 18-49 demo with a 0.76 rating. The show was centered around the ongoing issues between Shane McMahon, Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn and culminated in a match between Zayn and Randy Orton.

SmackDown retained 89 percent of the Raw audience from the previous night, right in the normal range of what it usually does during this time of the year after hitting 97 percent last week.

Here’s a look at the SmackDown and Raw viewership numbers since the start of the fall TV season:
