Vikings Set Sights on the DWU Open

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana wrestling is set to grapple at its second meet of the season. The Vikings head to Mitchell, S.D. for the Dakota Wesleyan Open on Saturday, Nov. 12 beginning at 9 a.m. Augustana will bring 21 wrestlers to the meet.

The Dakota Wesleyan Open will feature two Division I schools, South Dakota State and North Dakota State, four NSIC teams, Augustana, Northern State, Minot State and Southwest Minnesota State, and a slew of NAIA teams.

Last weekend, Augustana wrestled at the Daktronics Open in Brookings, S.D. Aero Amo led the Vikings with a sixth place finish at 184 pounds. Other top Viking wrestlers from the past weekend were Michael Lowman (285), Brandon Charbonneau (141) and Bailey Neises (157) who all went 2-2.

Next weekend the Vikings travel to Kearney, Neb. for the Holiday Inn Open hosted by Nebraska-Kearney. The meet will begin at 9 a.m. and run all day.
