Lassana Diarra met with Valencia representatives yesterday

French international and defensive midfielder Lassana Diarra met with Valencia representatives yesterday about a possible move, according to Foot Mercato.

The Marseille man had a positive meeting with the La Liga side, and talks are at an advanced stage between all the relevant parties, according to the report.

Manchester United remain interested in Diarra’s services, but Valencia are very much in pole position at the time of writing.

Following a decision by the courts that will award Diarra with at least €6m after a dispute between himself and the Belgium Football Federation, the Frenchman’s €10m fine that he is due to pay to Lokomotiv Moscow is therefore no longer as much of a problem in transfer negotiations.
