WATCH: No jersey, no problem for this South African youngster as he scores solo try

In one of the most bizarre things one might see on a rugby field, a South African schoolboy scored an outrageous solo try after his jersey was ripped off him, running 80-odd metres in the process.

Absolute credit must go to the schoolboy star who managed to make something out of nothing.

The clash was between Noories and Nelspruit with the scores heavily in favour of the former after only 25 minutes. What makes it worse is this try starts with Noories receiving a kick-off meaning Nelspruit had just conceded. Well, they would have to kick off again after this stunner.

The kicker sent the ball into the sky with a Noories forward tapping it back to their scrum-half. The half-back passed it out to the first receiver who shovelled it on until it got in the hands of the speedster.

Where it all changed

Nothing at all is on so he takes the contact and after losing the initial hit he powered through with the defender holding onto his jersey, which proved to be the crucial error and the last time he was touched in the entire play.

It was no worry for the ball carrier who let his jersey be pulled off his arms and opened his stride. There was space aplenty and the starlet showed a good step before backing his pace and boy was there a great deal of it.

The defenders were pedestrian and absolutely no match for his speed in the end as the player runs in for a stunning try. The commentator could not sound more thrilled after one of the strangest tries of the season.

Maybe now school-level rugby players can understand why their coaches are constantly telling them to use their shoulders and not jersey grab!
