Official | OGC Nice are signing 18-year-old Khephren Thuram from AS Monaco
Ligue 1 side OGC Nice have announced a mini-coup in signing French youth international 18-year-old midfielder Khephren Thuram on a free transfer from AS Monaco to go through on July 1st.
Les Aiglons claim in their press release that the biggest European clubs were after Lilian Thuram’s son, but they have landed him and convinced the teen to sign his first professional contract with OGC Nice. His youth contract with ASM ends this month.
Sporting Director Gilles Grimandi had the following to say on the deal:
“Khephren has truly great qualities and he is a hard-working boy. He was very quickly convinced that his enjoyment as a footballer would be maximised by earning playing time in a team that plays possession football and in a club that doesn’t hesitate to give opportunities to young players.”
